What is a Power Steering Pump?
A power steering pump is a vane-type hydraulic pump driven by engine power using a belt and pulley. The pump is used for pumping steering fluid to the power steering gear. The fluid pressure, which is transferred to the gearbox that receives the rotating motion of the steering wheel, is used for assisting the steering system of the vehicle.
