Measures Against Counterfeit and Substandard Products
In the aftermarket business, we have long pursued high quality and safety across the industry. However, in recent years, the distribution of substandard and counterfeit products has increased, raising the risk of improper vehicle maintenance and a failure to maintain performance.
What Are Counterfeit Products?
Counterfeit products are items that infringe on intellectual property rights--such as patents, utility models, design rights, and trademarks--by using genuine logos without authorization or imitating original designs.
These products do not meet the same quality standards as genuine ones and may lead to unexpected failures or accidents, posing risks not only to customers but also to those around them.
Examples of Counterfeit Products
Counterfeit Astemo automotive and motorcycle products are circulating widely on online shopping platforms and in physical stores. Imitated parts of Keihin, NISSIN, and SHOWA parts are particularly prevalent across Asia.
