The first SHOWA Balance Free Suspension for custom bikes was released three years ago for the Z900RS. It incorporates advanced technology developed through racing expertise and OE production know-how. For this release of the BFF/BFRC specifically tuned for the Z900, we've applied settings befitting a streetfighter model.

In short, this suspension emphasizes a sporty feel, making riding on winding roads more enjoyable and comfortable. It's tuned to provide clearer feedback from the road surface to the rider and to deliver a stable feel during acceleration and deceleration.

Balance-Free Structure

Above all, the defining feature of the Balance-Free Suspension is its dual-tube structure, which eliminates pressure balance constraints. By ensuring a dedicated oil return passage, pressure is constantly maintained at equal levels, enabling the damper to achieve a consistently balanced state. This increases the pressure-bearing area and enhances responsiveness. Furthermore, by separating the TEN and COMP flow paths, each can be individually adjusted. The ability to incorporate this structure at this price point is only possible thanks to SHOWA's OE production know-how.

Titanium Coating

Applying titanium coating to the slide pipe and rod, followed by surface polishing, reduces friction. This improves responsiveness in the micro-stroke range compared to conventional plating processes, enhancing the rider's road feel and vehicle handling.
